This series of ‘Desert Studies’ and ‘Canyonlands’ are our response to walking and observing in the desert wilderness of South West USA capturing a sense of place, depicting the abstract forms in the landscape that confront you at every turn.
By the unique method of dying, painting, ripping, cutting and collaging sycamore veneer, a process that mirrors the random fractal fragmentation in nature, these studies are a reflection and a reminder of how important undisturbed natural spaces are to our wellbeing.
